Booking Conditions 2012

 1. Duration of Occupation

1.1 The maximum time for holiday rental is six weeks in one property.

1.2 Guests may occupy the property from 3.00pm on the first day of rental. The property must be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure.

1.3 The times of entry and departure will be stated in the Confirmation booking and cannot be exceeded unless written approval has been given by Ser Pren Holiday Cottages.

1.4 If any Guest(s) exceed the times stated above, the Guest(s) will be liable to costs of any unauthorised extension incurred.  

2. Deposit and Final payment

2.1 A deposit of 25% of the total cost of the rental must be paid to secure the dates for all bookings made eight weeks before the start date of the holiday.

2.2 Where a booking is made with less than eight weeks to the start date of the holiday, the full rent and any additional charges must be paid in full at the time of the booking.

2.3 Should Ser Pren Holiday Cottages not accept or reject a booking request, the rent and additional charges will be refunded immediately.

2.4 Final payments must be received by us within seven weeks before the start date of the holiday dates booked.

2.5 If payment is not received within seven weeks of the start date, the booking will be treated as a cancellation, and the Guest(s) will lose their booking deposit, and the booking will be forfeited unless an agreement has been made with the owners of Ser Pren Holiday Cottages.

2.6 A reminder will not be sent by Ser Pren Holiday Cottages before the final payment is due. The date of the final payment will be sent with the Confirmation Booking.

2.7 Payment by cheque or Postal Order should be made payable to ‘Mrs. J. Barker’. Cash should always be sent by recorded delivery post. Post dated cheques will not be accepted.

 3. Overseas bookings

Bookings taken from Overseas Guests may be payable by international electronic bank transfer or in Sterling by cheque drawn on a UK bank. Any charges for payments from overseas must be paid by the Guest.

4. Changing a Booking

4.1 If a smaller or larger property was required after the initial booking was made, this can be done on the condition the new booking is available on the dates required, and eight weeks before the start date of the holiday.

4.2 Dates of the holiday may be changed providing the property is available for the new dates required.

 5. Cancellation of a Booking

5.1 In the event of a cancellation. Should the Guest(s) not be covered by their own personal insurance policy, then unfortunately, they will be liable for the full cost of the holiday. We will endeavour to re-let the property for the whole or part of the holiday period, and should this be possible the letting charges for that period will be refunded.

5.2 A booking can only be cancelled prior to the start of the holiday.

 6. Eligibility

A condition of booking is that no property will be let to groups of single sex parties of three or more, or to groups of single people, under the age of 25.

 7. Electricity and Central Heating charges

7.1 Electricity charges are included in the booking fee.

7.2 Central Heating – there is a separate charge of £25 per week if central heating is required.

 8. Security Deposit

8.1 A security deposit of £75 for one week and £100 for 2 weeks or longer.

8.2 A charge of £25 will be made for lost keys.

 9. Bed Linen and Towels

9.1 Bed linen consists of duvet covers, bottom sheets, pillow cases. One bath and one hand towel per person and two tea towels per property are included in the booking.

9.2 A change of bed linen and towels are provided for Guests staying two weeks or more, this is given every seventh day. This service is only given on request by the guests. We do not strip and make up the beds as we feel we do not want to invade the guests’ privacy. Where a request is made for clean linen and towels we ask that the dirty linen and towels are left just inside the front door.

9.3 Towels must not be taken from the property, e.g. to the beach or picnics etc. Beach towels etc. must be provided by the Guest(s).

10. Inventory

Any discrepancies must be reported within 24 hours of arrival, otherwise the inventory will be deemed to be correct.

11. Cots

We do not supply cots. Guests needing a cot will need to bring their own Travel Cot.

 12. Telephone

Telephones have not been installed in any of our Holiday accommodation because of the popularity of mobile phones. There is a public telephone within 100m (by the Post Office) for anyone without a mobile phone.

 13. Pets

13.1 We do not want to appear negative but with the current bye laws regarding dogs being banned on beaches, and people with allergies to animal fur we feel it appropriate not to allow pets in our properties.

13.2 In the event of a pet being brought into the holiday cottages, the booking will be cancelled immediately with the money for the Holiday Booking being forfeited.

14. Discounts

14.1 Please see special offers page

14.2 Previous guests will be entitled to a 5% discount on an Autumn/Winter holiday for one week or longer. There are no booking conditions as in 14.1.
Not included in the above discounts are the central heating or any 'special requirements', and conditions in 14.3.

14.3 The periods not included in the discount are: February half term week, Easter week, Spring Bank Holiday week, October half term week, Christmas and New Year, and Short Break holidays.

14.4 Only one discount may be applied to each booking.

15. Short Breaks

15.1 Why not take a short break, away from the humdrum of every day life and relax in different surroundings. We offer Short Break holidays out of season to cater for that requirement. Please see our Availability calendar for the property of your choice.

15.2 The 5% and 10% discounts in section 14 do not apply to Short Break Holidays.

16. Obligations by the Guests

16.1 To pay for any loss or damage to the premises caused by the Guest or any member of their party (wear and tear excluded).

16.2 To allow the owners reasonable access to the property.

16.3 Not to exceed the number of persons stated in the description of the property. A cot may only be occupied by a child aged 24 months or less.

16.4 Not to behave in such a manner to offend occupiers in adjoining properties.

16.5 If more then two vehicles are brought then it is down to the owner(s) of the vehicle(s) to find parking elsewhere. Vehicles must not be parked in a manner to cause an obstruction to the driveway. The driveway must be kept clear at all times.

16.6 Guests must not part with possession of the property, or share it, except with members of the party shown on the booking form.

16.7 The booking must not be sold or transferred without the consent of the owners.

16.8 Please note this is a strictly non smoking establishment

17. Signature of Authority

The person completing the booking form must certify that:

  • He or She agrees to the Booking Conditions on behalf of all persons included on the Booking form, or any person substituted or added at a later date.
  • They agree to take responsibility for the party occupying the property, and to notify us if they are not a member of the party.
  • That the signatory is over 18 years of age.
